Archive List is an independent, personally curated guide to vintage and secondhand shopping in Japan. This page is the whole deal: what you can expect from us, what we expect from you, and exactly what data this site touches. Plain English, no dark patterns.

Terms of Use
1. Who we are
Archive List («the Site», «we», «us») is an independent editorial project created, curated and operated by its founder. We are not a shop, a marketplace, or an agent of any store listed here, and we are not affiliated with any of them. We are the guide, not the counter.
2. Agreeing to these terms
By opening or using archive-list.com you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please close the tab — no hard feelings.
3. What the Site is
The Site is a curated directory and editorial guide: shop listings, walking routes, market calendars and articles. Details such as opening hours, addresses, dates and prices are gathered from public sources and change in the real world without telling us. Everything is provided «as is» and for general information only — always double-check before you travel across a city for one door.
4. Our intellectual property
The following belong to Archive List and are protected by copyright and related rights: the Site's design and layout; all original texts, guides and articles; the walking routes; the artwork, illustrations, stamps and logos; the Archive List name and seal; and the selection, curation, arrangement and presentation of the directory as a whole. All rights reserved.
You may browse, share links, and quote short fragments with a link back to the Site. You may not, without our prior written permission: copy or republish substantial parts of the Site; scrape, crawl or bulk-download the directory, texts or images; mirror the Site; or use our curation, data or artwork to build a competing or derivative product or dataset, including for machine-learning training. (Normal search-engine indexing is welcome.) Asking is easy — DM @archivelist_.
5. Third-party content
Shop names, storefront photographs and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are shown for identification and guidance — the same way a printed city guide shows the shops it reviews. If you are an owner and want your listing corrected, updated or removed, send us a DM and we will act promptly and in good faith.
6. Acceptable use
Do not: access the Site with bots or automated tools (beyond ordinary search indexing); probe, overload or interfere with it; or use it for anything unlawful. We may block access that breaks these rules.
7. No warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no promises about accuracy, completeness, availability or fitness for any purpose. Shops close, move, change hours, and sometimes a typhoon cancels a market. Your travel and purchase decisions are entirely your own.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the Site. The Site is free; our total aggregate liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us to use it — zero.
9. External links
Links to Google Maps, Instagram, shop websites and other third-party services are provided for convenience. Their content and their terms are theirs, not ours.
10. Changes
We may change, pause or discontinue any part of the Site, and may update these Terms, at any time. Material changes get a fresh «Last updated» date above. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept it.
11. General
If any clause of these Terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Archive List about the Site.
Privacy Policy
Short version: no accounts, no names, no emails. We count visits with one anonymous first-party cookie, your route list never leaves your device, and we don't sell or share data with advertisers. That's the whole story — details below.
1. What we collect
When you browse the Site, our server records standard technical data: the pages you open,
the time, the referring page, your browser type, and an anonymous visitor ID from our
first-party cookie (a random string like a3f9… — it contains nothing about you and
is not linked to any identity). We use this to see which pages and shops people find useful.
2. What we deliberately don't do
No ad networks. No cross-site trackers. No fingerprinting. No social-media pixels. No selling, renting or trading of data — ever.
3. What stays on your device
Your «My route» list is saved in your browser's local storage so it survives a page reload. It is never transmitted to us — it lives and dies in your browser, and you can clear it anytime by clearing site data.
4. What third parties see
To work, the Site loads a few external resources: map tiles (© OpenStreetMap contributors, © CARTO), web fonts (Google Fonts) and the Leaflet map library (unpkg CDN). When your browser fetches those files, those services receive your IP address and a standard file request, governed by their own privacy policies. The same applies when you follow an outbound link (Google Maps, Instagram, a shop's own site).
5. Retention
Visit logs are kept short-term for statistics and then discarded or reduced to aggregate numbers («X visitors this month»), which contain no personal data.
6. Your choices & rights
Block or delete cookies and site data in your browser — the Site keeps working. If you want anything corrected or removed (including shop photos or listing data you own), DM @archivelist_ — that is the fastest way to reach the person who can actually do it.
